TENEDLE – MEMORY – 1989 – LAUGHING SILENCE OR THE PASSION FOR ELECTRONIC MUSIC

Curious memory (1989 – 30 years ago)
In this interview on LA NAZIONE I spoke (as a 20-year-old aspiring pop star) of Kraftwerk as a “little known” group. I loved them since the RAI program “The Strix” 1978 in which I appeared for the first time in Italy I believe.

In fact “Electric Cafe”, 1987, was initially a half-flop and again, in 1991, when they came to play at the Sicurcaiv of Grassina (Florence – in the province) we were less than 300 people in the hall. What a pleasure anyway !!

The original line-up: Ralf Hutter, Florian Schneider, Karl Bartos and Wolfgang Flur, the same concept that still runs around the world and today makes millions of spectators.
“Laughing Silence” did not imitate the Kraftwerk, we did not have the courage and probably “not even” the talent yet, but the electronics have formed us, building songs putting at the centre of all the production was in our DNA. We spent hours locked in mouldy cellars. How many tapes we overdubbed …

Electronic music is still current, futuristic, and in my opinion “enveloping” and not at all cold, we are just in the middle of an era, and it is one of the highest forms of contemporary art. Wonderful potential.
